Derek Hoke readies new album, Electric Mountain (Little Hollywood), for 2019 release.

Working once again with producer, Dex Green, Hoke employs a post-modern Americana approach to his newest material. Incorporating a variety of synthesizer sounds that blend effortlessly with the upbeat acoustic and electric guitars, the sound of this record is like nothing Hoke has ever done. One of the main instruments used is an "Octave" guitar. Basically, a mandolin sized electric 12 string guitar. It adds a haunting chime to the most of the tracks.

Considerably more upbeat than Hoke's 2017 album, Bring The Flood, Electric Mountain has a feel a hopefulness and new beginnings. Shrugging off the past. Making way for the future.
